Our Boxcar Adventure

One of the nights we spent in Texas, we stayed at a local hotel that had a boxcar for us to stay in!

We absolutely loved it! We spent the day exploring the amazing property.

That night we hunkered down and watched a movie together as a family after we went to Subway to dinner and had frozen yogurt for dessert.

The next morning, we woke up again and had a great time playing on the property. We saw the little animal farm and fed the animals. We played basketball, played on the swing set and other fun things.

The kids even found a large chess board.

We had a wonderful time with our family at the boxcar!

Fossil Rim Wildlife Center

Another one of the favorite things we did on our trip to Texas was spending time at the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center.

We would drive around the park in our van and various animals would come up to our car and we would feed them.

The animals that we fed ranged from a wide variety of sheep and antelope to an elk and giraffe.

Some of the favorite moments were when an animal was coming into Hyrum's side of the car and so Brandon and Lucy were watching that animal.  At the same time a large elk came into Brandon's and Lucy's side.  Lucy was terrified and screamed so loud!
Lucy went to the complete back of  Brandon's parents' car when the giraffe came to their car.  She totally hid behind a sun visor too.
There was also a zebra that loved Ben and would keep following our car to be fed by him.

Emmy loved feeding the little baby animals.

The giraffe's whole head came into the van and used its tongue to take the food from Brandon's hand.

It was a wonderful experience that our kids still talk about with fun memories. It was great to experience it with Brandon's parents too.

Cadillac Ranch

For Thanksgiving 2015, we headed to Texas to spend the holiday with Brandon's parents and brother and his family.

We had a great time in Texas! On our way to visit, we made a stop at the famous Cadillac Ranch.

What Cadillac Ranch is is a whole line of old Cadillacs stuck in the ground that have been spray painted.

The kids thought it was a pretty cool sight and enjoyed climbing on them and being silly.

It was a great pit stop for our family on our long drive to Texas.

Trampoline Fun

For Thanksgiving 2015 we headed to Texas.  We enjoyed spending some time with Brandon's parents and other family members.

One of the things we enjoyed doing on the trip was going to a trampoline park.

It was so cute watching Lucy do her little jumps to get to the big pit.

Emmy was pretty proud of the fact that she learned how to do a flip off the tramp there.

The kids LOVED playing dodge ball on the trampolines.

There were other options there for the kids to do too.

One of them was a when they would take a big jump off the side of  a tall tower.

It was a great way for us to spend time together as a family.
