The Nutcracker 2015

For the 2015 Christmas season, Emmy's dance company put on the performance of the Nutcracker.

Emmy's class played the role of mice during the production.

Emmy was so excited for her performance and did such a wonderful job.

Brandon and Hyrum went and watched Emmy one night.

Lucy and Ben watched another night with me.  I went to her other performances by myself.

Attending the Nutcracker was a great addition to our holiday season!

Pioneer Days 2015- Part 2

Friday brought another fun day during the Pioneer Celebration. My girls once again participated in a little summer dance class. As a result, the girls were able to be in the parade in Manassa.

I absolutely loved seeing Lucy in the truck during the parade. She waved her little heart out to me. It made me so happy.

Emmy felt pretty special holding the sign for the dance company.

There were also some pretty cool floats in this parade too.

Ben even found a friend to hang out with.

After the parade,  we headed over to the park to watch the girls perform the dance number they had been working on all summer long.

The girls each did a great job! It was so much fun watching them dance!

My Beautiful Ballerina

Back in May, Emmy had her dance recital.  This year, Emmy decided that she would like to try tap and ballet. She danced ballet to the song Prince Ali from the movie Aladdin.

 Emmy tapped to the song Itty Bitty Pretty One.

We were lucky that grandma and papa came out for the occasion.  Emmy performed two shows.
Brandon and my dad went and saw her Friday night. My mom and I went and saw her Saturday afternoon.

Emmy was both excited and nervous for her performances.  Emmy is such a beautiful dancer. I love watching her dance and perform.


Emmy absolutely loved going to dance with one of her best friends.

Of course we made sure to have flowers for her after her performances. 

We also went and got a treat with her to celebrate her hard work.

Lucy and Emmy's Summer Dance Class

During the summer, Emmy and Lucy were able to participate in a dance class.  They absolutely LOVED it.  It was so fun to see my girls dance and have a good time with their friends. I love watching them move and explore what their body can do. 

Of course, the title of this post should read Lucy, Emmy and Mommy's dance class.  Lucy liked it the best when I was right by her and dancing during her class. She told me to try. It was funny.  Lucy still talks about how she was a "rina" and that it is her turn to go to class again. It was a great activity for the girls to do during the summer. 

My Ballerina

One of the highlights for the month of May was seeing Emmy perform.  She decided to once again do ballet with a friend for the spring semester.  She worked hard each week on improving her dance skills.

The boys and Lucy loved watching Emmy in her dress rehearsal.  Lucy calls Emmy a "rina." 
Emmy was excited that my parents would be coming for her performance.  Emmy was also thrilled with the prospect of wearing red lipstick again and having rosy cheeks.

When the night of the performance came, I could tell that Emmy was nervous. Emmy loved having her family there to support her.

 Emmy looked lovely on stage and performed beautifully.

Of course after her performance she was greeted by flowers from grandma and papa and her daddy. I think the favorite part of her performance was when she received the flowers.

Emmy's dance for the year was inspired by this picture.

Emmy was able to convince her papa that she needed a little treat so we went and celebrated her big night at a local bakery cafe that just opened up in town.

I love watching Emmy dance.  She looks lovely on stage and is a beautiful dancer. I love being able to see her confidence grow as she does difficult things.
