Pioneer Days 2015 Part-1

The middle of July brought the exciting pioneer days to the small towns in our community.

We headed to the town of Sanford to enjoy the parade and other  fun events.

Next, we arrived for the foot races.  Each of the kids ran their little hearts out!

The next activity was the three legged races.  The kids had fun with their friends trying to get the coordination down for to accomplish the race.

After the three legged races came the watermelon eating contest. Hyrum was pretty excited to be chosen to participate in the contest.

Next, came the egg toss.  Ben and his partner were out pretty quickly. Emmy and her partner lasted a long time! Hyrum and I were going to do it together, but the people in charge ran out of eggs.

Of course, to end the fun day, the fire truck was there to hose everyone down.

Some of our favorite time of the day was spent with our friends!

It was a great afternoon!

Drive-In Movie

During the month of July, we were able to go to the Drive-In with our friends.

We went and watched Despicable Me 2.

We even brought some popcorn and fun treats. Brandon was in Pueblo for a work meeting.

Shortly after the movie started, it started to rain and as a result we ended up watching the movie in the car!  The kids loved the movie and eating the special snacks.

We still had a great time together with our family and friends.

Summer Baseball

This past summer, the kids were able to participate in summer baseball.

We spent many summer nights at the ball diamond.

All of the kids worked hard and were able to improve and do better during the season.

The best part of it is that not only did we have our beloved neighbors come and cheer on our kids, we were able to have my parents and my dad's mom (Hot Chocolate grandma) there to cheer the kids on.  Hot Chocolate grandma even did Emmy's hair in a fancy way to make sure it would stay out of her face during the game.

During their game, Ben and Emmy had some wonderful plays and some great hits.

Their team was able to win the tournament again!

Hyrum played in a league above his age. This past season was a learning season for him. This season probably helped him grow the most, but it was a difficult season for him.

Hyrum's team was able to take third place in the tournament.

We are proud of how all our kids tried their best in this past season of baseball!

Fun Visitors

In the middle of July, my parents and my grandma (grandma chocolate),  came for a quick weekend trip for the kids' baseball tournaments.

When our visitors arrived, the kids had their brackets ready for their tournament for our visitors to fill out.

We had a wonderful and fun packed weekend.

Grandma was so sweet and even brought fun presents for the kids.

Emmy's favorite part was having grandma chocolate do her hair and scratch her back.

Of course we had to make some Papa pancakes while they were here!
We were lucky to have such fun people come for the weekend to cheer us on in our fun adventures.
