Emily's Basketball Season 2021

The beginning of the year brought the start of basketball again for Emily. She played on her middle school's 8th grade girls A team.   Due to Covid restrictions being in place, the girls had to play their games wearing masks. It was also a short and quick season.

Emily grew so much during this season. Her coach had her play the post position on her team, this was a new position for her to play Throughout the season, Emily's skills improved and her confidence grew. She enjoyed playing this new position.  I love her strong and determined spirit that takes on any challenge thrown her way.

Emily also gained a new friend on the team, Hannah. Her team did well, and ended up placing 4th at the end of the season tournament.

Emmy's First Middle School Basketball Season 2020

As a seventh grader, Emily was able to be apart of a middle school basketball team for the first time.

Her seventh grade team had a season that was a little rocky, but they pushed through and came away with the title of Consolation Champions.

She had a great coach that helped her get in prime shape through difficult conditioning.  Emmy was pushed to think and improve and she learned to play three different positions.  I am so very proud of how Emmy worked to push herself to become a great ball player.  She improved immensely over the season.

I am always impressed with this girl's determination and drive.

Students vs Teachers

One thing the kids look forward to all year is the students vs teachers game.  The kids give up some of their recess time to practice basketball and play with their friends.

Much excitement is always in the air as the other students in the school make for an excellent cheering section. Both Ben and Emmy did their best and played hard.

What a fun tradition to have at the school!

Emmy Loves Volleyball

Emmy girl absolutely rocked her volleyball season this year.

She has an amazing overhand serve that she has worked so hard to perfect. She is aggressive and has shown some great hustle as she slides across the gym floor on her knee pads for awesome digs.

We love this talented and smart girl!

Hyrum's Championship Team

Hyrum had such a fantastic basketball season that I thought he deserved a post by himself.  He did such a wonderful job improving his shot this past little bit, he hustled more and played great defense.
A couple of games he played in this season, including the championship, had some intense moments and Hyrum was able to sink a couple of crucial baskets to help his team solidify the victory.   Hyrum absolutely loved going to Pizza Hut after the game to celebrate the teams' championship win!

This handsome son of mine was so proud of his trophy and the hard work that his team put in to win the championship game! (December 2016)

Winter Basketball

During the months of October, November and December, our big kids played basketball.  They worked hard and practiced twice a week.  We spent our Saturdays and some weeknights watching the kids play basketball. Brigham was enthralled watching his older siblings play.

Both Ben and Emmy improved significantly during the season in their dribbling, shooting and overall playing ability.  I loved how hard they worked and how hard they tried to be a team player to cheer on their teammates.
Ben even received a ball from his coach for being the player of the game!
It was a great season!

Fall Football 2016

While the girls played soccer in the fall, the boys played football.  The boys loved every minute of their season.  The boys had great coaches that encouraged them to improve and to try their best.

Hyrum enjoyed playing the center lineman and snapping the ball. For the most part, he was really accurate.

Hyrum was also able to be the kicker during the kick-off.

Some of the positions Ben played were running back, lineman, and safety. He was even able to run the football in for a few touchdowns.  Ben was quite the impressive player to watch.

One of the highlights for the boys for the season was when they were able to run on the field with the high school football players. Also, during the half-time of that game, they were able to play under the lights. The boys were in pure heaven!

The boys had a fantastic 2016 fall football season.
