Tigers Basketball

On February 27th, our family went to a Memphis Tigers basketball game. Brandon was able to receive some free tickets for the game from his school. We were all very excited about attending the game.

To start the game off, one of Brandon's professors took our family out to eat at a restaurant where they serve Philly Cheese Steaks. The food was so yummy! It was very nice for Brandon's professor to take us out to eat. It was a fun way to start off the night.

The kids were so excited to be at the basketball game. Hyrum was especially excited since where the basketball game was played is where the Monster Truck Rally was.The kids loved the blow-up ref for a local business.Where we sat for the game was almost the last row in the stadium, in other words, nose bleed section. The kids loved all the sights and noise. Emmy loved the cheer leaders and the dancers. She also loved watching the two tiger mascots. She wanted me to take a picture of one of them.
Ben thought the blimp was pretty cool and wanted me to take a picture of it.
We were able to sit by another student family from Brandon's school, that we are friends with, at the game. Hyrum loved talking with their kids.

The kids loved the free booklets they found about the sports teams in our area.Hyrum even kept a paper/handout about how if the tigers win, then you get something. In this case, some discount at a local bar. In the picture below, Ben is holding the handout Hyrum has kept.Hyrum loved doing the DEFENSE and other fun cheers through out the game. It was fun to talk to him about basketball lingo.During the game, most of the time the kids were cheering for the Cougars.

We had such a great time together as a family. It also didn't hurt that it was a good game!

Sunny Saturday

We have had beautiful weather the past few days. It is still a little cold outside, but the days are sunny and gorgeous. Last Saturday, the 27th of February, was especially beautiful. I was cleaning the house and sent the kids outside to play in the back yard. They loved being able to play outside! I had to laugh at them, their coats didn't stay on very long and their shoes and socks didn't either. I guess they couldn't resist walking in the grass bare foot. Oh, the joys of spring!

Remember New Year's...

To start the day off, we had family pictures taken with my family. It was so cold outside. We had to bribe the kids with a promise of going to McDonald's if they smiled in the pictures. After McDonald's and a little nap, we went and played at Kangaroo Zoo. Like always, the kids had a great time. When Kangaroo Zoo closed, we went over to my Aunt Mindy's for the year of the tiger New Year's Celebration.

The kids had fun making New Year's HatsFun games were played liked pin the tail on the tiger and some scrabble game.
A Ping Pong tournament was held.
My Aunt Lisa brought a fun game for the kids to play. Someone hides the tiger. Then, the kids walk around with sticks that have lights on them. When all the lights are lit it means the kids are close to the tiger. If there is only a few lights lit or none at all, they are far from the tiger.A story about a tiger was read. Ben helped Papa when it was his turn to read.We celebrated New Year's early, around 8:30 or 9:00 I think. I am not sure Ben and Emmy knew what to think of all the noise. The kids enjoyed popping their packing bubbles and blowing their noise makers.
