Star Student-EMILY

In January, Emmy was chosen to be Star Student for her class. She was so excited and eager to help make her poster. In Utah, we were able to find some fun things for her poster to celebrate her.
She was thrilled to show off her fabulous pink poster, that had hearts and showed all of her favorite things and people!
Emmy listed some of her favorite things on her poster which included cooking, Halloween, Tasty Treats, soccer, books, nail polish, sleep overs, Lake Powell, the beach, school, park, art, flip flops, 4th of July and going to Utah.  Also, on the poster there were pictures about her being a big sister which is a fact that Emmy LOVES.  There were also pictures of our family, her and Ben (since they are twins) and Emmy when she was a cute baby!

Once again, it was so fun to go through her pictures to find the perfect ones to celebrate our sweet Emmy. We are so lucky to have her in our family!

Star Student-BEN

In November, Ben was the start student at his school. Being a star student at school means you have many responsibilities like holding the flag for the pledge of allegiance, being the line leader, and being the first person to do things. Ben was very excited for his turn to be the star student. Also, for Ben's special thing, Brandon went to preschool and talked about the eye and being an optometrist. Both Ben and Emmy thought it was awesome to have their dad come to school.
I put together a poster for Ben to take to school to spotlight him and the sweet boy that he is.
The main thing that he wanted on his poster was when he went to the Ole' Miss and BYU football game with my dad. Also on the poster was Halloween, fishing, soccer, school, beach, Redbirds baseball, Lake Powell, the park, cars, going to Utah, books and games. I also put on pictures of Ben as a baby,, him and Emmy since they are twins and our family. Of course, I had to use yellow since it is one of his favorite colors (along with black). I was very happy with the poster and how it turned out. It was fun to do to spotlight our Ben!

The kids also had fun opening the awesome presents they received from their cousins in Colorado. Hyrum, Ben and Emmy were thrilled with the result!!

BYU Cougars and Yogurt Land

One of the things the boys LOVED on the trip to Utah was going to the BYU basketball games with their Papa, Sean and Brandon. From what I heard they had a great time going to the game and really got into cheering for the team. Also, Papa treated the boys to a hot dog at the game, which they thought was AWESOME!!
While we were there in Utah, the boys watched the BYU bowl game with Papa and Brandon. Hyrum was so disappointed. He brought his BYU flag to take to the BYU games and forgot about it until the day before we left (which was when he was watching the BYU bowl game). I told him that he could hold his flag during the football game if he wanted to, he wasn't wild about the idea, but he decided that it was better than nothing. Hyrum got pretty upset when he thought that BYU might lose, but he soon became ecstatic when the cougars won.

While the boys were at the games, Emmy would go on wonderful trips to Yogurt Land with the girls. Yogurt Land is a wonderful place with yogurt and delicious toppings that you can pile high to make for a tasty treat. Plus, the best thing about yogurt land is that you get to eat the yogurt with a PINK spoon. Yes, those spoons came home with us and Emmy thinks they are fantastic. Yeah, nothing gets better than that.

Bowling and Kangaroo Zoo

Two fun things we did during our time here in Utah was to go bowling and Kangaroo Zoo with some friends from my parents ward. The kids really enjoyed bowling. Ben lost focus after awhile and would have rather played the race car arcade game. Emmy I think was in heaven just to be playing with a girl . Hyrum could have played all day. He thought he was a pro since they did bowling in P.E. It was so cute to how excited he would get when he had a great frame. It is definitely something we will be doing again soon as a family.

Our trip to Utah wouldn't have been complete without some time spent at Kangaroo Zoo. The kids love it there and always have a great time.

New Year's Eve

We were able to celebrate New Year's Eve at Mindy's house. Doesn't little Lucy look adorable in her leggings/skirt that Tracy and Sean gave her for Christmas! Like always, we have a fantastic time. There is always good food to eat, tons of people to play games and talk with. Since this year was the year of the dragon, Mindy had crafts out for people to make their own dragon. Emmy loved making her dragon with the cousins. The boys loved playing nintendo games with the boys. Lucy was content to be passed around and admired. We celebrated New Years a little early(if I remember correctly 9). Brandon picked up some fireworks at a local stand to do with everyone. The kids loved it, but I think Brandon probably enjoyed the fireworks most of all! It was a great night and the perfect way to end our trip to Utah.
