Galveston, Texas-Day 1

We decided to take the long way home from Dallas and spend a couple of days at Galveston Beach.

We arrived in Galveston, in the late afternoon, on Wednesday, May 5th. We decided to set-up our tent first before cruising the town and finding something to eat.

The kids were so excited to be at the beach and waited so patiently for us to set the tent up. The kids found some good places to lounge. The kids were so thrilled to find sea shells. After our tent was set up, we drove around town looking at the beautiful view and finding a place to eat. We decided to splurge a little and take the kids to the Rainforest Cafe. Hyrum enjoyed doing the word search the place provided while we waited for our food. The environment was amazing! Every so often the elephants and the monkeys would move around. It was pretty cool to watch. The had numerous amounts of fish in tanks. To end the day, we walked along the beach enjoying the beautiful sunset. All of us were so excited to walk along the beach. The Rainforest Cafe's shape in Galveston is a Volcano. About every half-hour, the volcano would erupt fire. The kids thought it was awesome. We could see the volcano from the beach.

Isn't he handsome? It was one of those great moments that you have as a family that you want to keep forever.

  1. I love that you're always doing these fun vacations and activities with your kids. Jon and I were able to go to the Rainforest Cafe at Disneyland in 2008 and even we totally loved it, but it sounds way cooler as a volcano! What fun family memories for your kids :)
