Galveston, Texas-Day 2, Part 1

On our second day in Galveston, in the morning, we decided to check out the local ferry. The ferry was free to ride. We made it to the ferry just in time before it pulled out.

On our way to the island, we were up on the second level of the ferry. The view was fantastic! As the ferry was warming up its engines before it started to move, the motor would turn up fish in its wake. The seagulls congregated in swarms to the back of the ferry to enjoy an easy meal.

We saw some amazing big boats on our ferry ride. One was an old battleship.
We were told to look for dolphins while on our ferry ride. We were pleasantly surprised and saw quite a few. Hyrum said that the dolphin was waving its fin at him and said, "Hi Hyrum."

It was super windy while we were on the ferry.

On our way back, we rode on the bottom part of the ferry. The kids were in heaven! They loved being so close to the water. We saw even more dolphins on our way back. When we arrived back where our car was, we found a really cool monument about Galveston and the role that it played in the Civil War.
As we drove around town we saw many damaged areas from a hurricane a few years ago. Also, driving around town we found a pretty awesome shark..
We had such a great time together as a family that morning.
