Miss Holiday 2016

Of course the holiday season wouldn't have been complete without a Miss Hoilday party.  Due to a severe weather storm, our numbers were few, but we had a grand time.

Kiley was crowned Miss Hoiday once again!
The favorite ornament of the night was the pickle!
To finish off the party, we played some fun Minute to Win It holiday names.

Overall, it was a great party and much laughs were had.

Hyrum's 12th Birthday Party

Hyrum had a great 12th birthday party!

To start the party off, we had a military word search for the kids to do while we waited for everyone to arrive.
Next, the boys played capture the flag with swords! Hyrum loved the idea so much from Ben's party, he decided that he would love to do it at his.  Needless to say, it was a great hit! The boys had a grand time and spent most the party time playing it!
We also played the skittle game! The name game was also played, too. The boys had to each write down a name and then they had to guess the names the other people had written.

The boys then gave Hyrum their presents, Hyrum was completely spoiled by his friends. Next, we had cake and ice cream. Brandon made an amazing battlefield cake.  It was pretty neat!

To finish the party, the boys played capture the flag until their parents arrived.  It was a great afternoon celebrating our Hyrum!

Ben's 10th Birthday Party

Ben was so excited to finally have his birthday party. We didn't really have a theme, he just picked the activities that he wanted to do and we went from there.

When the boys first arrived, we had a word search for them to do while we waited for everyone to come.
Next, the boys picked foam swords out of a box. The color of the hilt of the sword determined what team they would be on for capture the flag. Ben came to me with his idea of capture the flag with swords a few weeks before is party so I was able to order them in time.  The game of Capture the Flag with swords was probably the biggest highlight of the party and I think Ben's favorite part.

We also played the skittle game and the flour game.

Next, we opened presents and Ben was completely spoiled by his friends.

For his birthday party, Ben decided that he would like to have a Eragon cake (he read the book recently and loved it). Brandon once again stepped up to the plate and made Ben an amazing cake!
We then sang Happy Birthday to Ben and had cake and ice cream.

To finish the party, the boys went back outside to play Capture the Flag and run and jump in our leaf pile.  It was a great day to celebrate Ben!

A Princess Celebration

Lucy was so excited for her friends to come over for her birthday party!

One thing that Lucy likes is for things to stay the same. She finds comfort in routine.

It really was no surprise to me that as we planned her fifth birthday party, she wanted to do the exact same thing that she did for her fourth birthday party.

When the kids arrived at the party, they colored the paper bags they would use to put their candy in from the pinata.

We played Duck, Duck, Goose!

We  played "Don't Eat the Princess!"

We played Pin the Crown on the Princess

The kids were able to hit a pinata and find lots of candy!

Lucy was completely spoiled by her friends and was given such wonderful presents.

Brandon made a beautiful princess cake. However, Lucy did step out of the box and had a princess Merida cake this time.

It was such a fun party! It was easy to see that Lucy absolutely loved every single minute and was so happy! We love this Lucy girl!

Water Party

During the month of July, I had each of the kids invite a couple friends over so we could have a water party.

I saw some fun ideas for a water party on Pintrest and wanted to try them out.

We played a few different types of water relays.

We also played a water balloon catch contest. After each complete catch, the kids had to take another step away from each other.

Another game we played was Sponge Ball (dodge ball).  I made these cool sponge balls by cutting up sponges and tying them together.  If you were hit by a sponge ball, you were out.

We also played the game Dribble, Dribble, Drench (just like Duck, Duck, Goose, ) which surprisingly was a lot of the kids favorite.

Of course we had to have a water fight with balloons too!

To finish the day, the kids ran through the sprinkler and slid on the water blob that Brandon and I made.  The boys seemed to really enjoy it, the girls weren't so sure.

Besides playing games, we had lunch for our guest. We feed them Pigs in a Blanket, Watermelon, Popsicles and had kool-aid for the drink.

Overall, it was a great day to celebrate the beauty of summer.
