O Christmas Tree

 Ben absolutely loved the month of December at scouts.  They made the infamous mud pie as well as the beloved sugar cookie Christmas tree. 

Ben was pretty proud of his hard work.  He completely loves scouts! We have been blessed that he has had such wonderful leaders. 

Ben Receives His Bear

One thing that our boys have absolutely loved doing is Cub Scouts.  They love learning new things, they love activities, particularly, the skits.

In November of 2016, Ben was able to receive his Bear badge and graduated onto the Webelos pack.  Ben was able to pin the Bear pin on me, his mom, cross the bridge and I put on his new Webelos scarf and he was officially part of the pack.

Ben has loved every minute in Webelos. Our boys have been blessed to have such wonderful scout leaders. 

Arrow of Light

One of the things my boys have absolutely loved doing is cub scouts!  They have enjoyed every minute with their wonderful leaders and instructors.

This past December, Hyrum made the transitioned from cub scouts to boy scouts. He received his arrow of light, his Weblos badge and his Religious Knot.

He worked hard to accomplish all those many things.

Pinewood Derby

The month of April also brought the Pinewood Derby for our two scouts.

The boys highly anticipated this day and looked forward to it.  Both of the boy worked hard with Brandon to form and shape their cars. It was Ben's first derby. He was so excited for the event he could hardly stand it.

When we first arrived at he derby, the boys each needed to weigh in their cars.

The kids were so excited to watch the races. Many of the boys, mine included, were jumping up and down with each race. 

 Brandon decided that the name of gazelle fit Ben. He would eagerly run back and forth bouncing with excitement.

Of course part of the great fun is hanging out with your best buddies during the derby.

Hyrum's car and Ben's car both did well.

It was a fun night with our boys. 

Blue and Gold Banquet

Back in February, the boys had their Blue and Gold Banquet for scouting.  The boys were so excited for this big event. Both Hyrum and Ben worked on fun things to perform for the night. 

Hyrum's pack worked on a variety of skits that the kids still try to imitate and perform around the house.

Ben's pack worked on singing some scout songs.

Overall, it was a fun night to celebrate scouting. Brandon and I are grateful for the amazing scout leaders that help our boys!

November Pack Meeting

The November 2014 pack meeting was a big one for this family. 

To start things off, Ben's pack was in charge of posting and retiring the colors.

Ben had worked very hard in scouts and received his bobcat. Ben was so exited!

Hyrum earned his bear badge and "crossed the bridge" to join the other webelos since he had his birthday. 

Our boys love scouts! We are grateful for their great leaders that have helped our boys.

Pinewood Derby

In April, Hyrum participated in his second Pinewood Derby.

He was so excited to create his car with Brandon.   He named his car blue lightening. Brandon decided to get a little fancy with the set up of the car, so Hyrum's car didn't do as well this year, but Hyrum still had fun racing his car and enjoyed every minute with his friends. 

We are lucky that Hyrum has such a great friends where we live. 

Hyrum is a Bear

In September, Hyrum earned his wolf merit badge as well as a few arrow points.  He has been working very hard on his scouting.

In November, he walked the bridge and officially became a bear and joined his new den.

In November, he also participated in the raising of the colors for scouting with his old wolf den.

I loved how excited he was to finally have a turn to walk the bridge and advance.  I am so proud of him and the hard work that he has put into scouting.
