Chinese Lanterns

We went to Texas for the 2012 Christmas season.  We had a wonderful time there. We felt bad, we brought a vicious stomach bug and shared it with everyone.  However, before everyone was sick, we were able to go to an amazing Chinese lantern festival on Christmas Eve.

The festival was amazing and very unique.

The exhibit had a variety of creatures and things made out of Chinese lanterns. Some of the things that were made out of the Chinese lanterns were Pandas, flowers, trees, dragons, Chinese buildings, butterflies and flowers, the Little Mermaid. Really, it was a sight to behold.
It was a great night, for walking around, the weather wasn't too cold.

Hyrum wanted his picture taken in front of the Pandas.

Emmy picked this flower to have her picture taken in front of.

This dragon was made out of thousands of Chinese dishes. It was remarkable to look at up close.

Here is a picture of Brandon's cute parents.  They recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

It was unique Christmas Eve, but very enjoyable!

To end the night, we went home and read the Nativity story, set out cookies and milk, and put the kids to bed in time for Santa to come.
