When Brigham was one month old, we noticed that he was starting to have breathing problems. As time went on, breathing continued to be very difficult for him. Our local doctor recommended us to be sent to a specialist at the Children's Hospital in Denver, CO. There, Brigham was diagnosed as having laryngomalacia and ended up having a supraglottoplasty the next day.
Thank heavens Brandon's brother and his family live in the Denver area. They were so good to us to let us spend the night there before his big day, my sister-in-law brought us a wonderful bag of goodies for us at the hospital.
Brigham's surgery went well. It took him a little while to wake up after the procedure. It was so hard on Brandon and I, giving our baby to the doctors to take back for surgery. This picture was taken before his surgery.
I was an emotional basket case and a nervous wreck during his surgery. After Brigham's surgery, he woke up mad! He was hungry (he couldn't eat before the surgery) and he was hurting. I literally held him the whole night after his surgery as I sat in the chair (he had to stay overnight after his surgery). All the nurses loved him and couldn't get over how cute he was. We really had an excellent doctor and excellent nurses that took care of our baby.
All clear to go home, but you can still tell he is miserable!
Thank goodness my dad came down and held down the fort while Brandon and I were away. He took care of my other kids, helped them with their homework, fed them and kept my house clean. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful supportive dad. This picture was taken the night before we left to Denver. My dad made sure Brigham had a nice bath right before he left. Also, I was so grateful for the priesthood blessing my dad and Brandon were able to give Brigham.
We have seen wonderful improvement since Brigham's surgery. He is breathing so much easier. We are so grateful for modern medicine and the many prayers that were offered in his behalf.

Happy Halloween 2014
We had a wonderful Halloween with our wonderful family that we love!
My Beautiful Bat!
My handsome Harry Potter! Hyrum started reading Harry Potter earlier that year and absolutely fell in love with the series and reading in general.
My adorable Anna! Did you noticed she did the same pose as Emmy for pictures? Lucy loved it when I braided her hair into two braids. Even now she still asks for Anna hair occasionally.
My dashing Darth Vader! To be honest, when Ben was picking a costume for Halloween, I think he just picked the first one he saw so he could be finished with the picking process.
We were lucky to have so many family members come into for Ben and Emmy's baptism. We were fortunate that they all came a day early and we were able to celebrate Halloween with them. We had delicious chilli and cornbread and scones for dinner.
Next, we took the kids to a few houses trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. After trick or treating at few houses, we headed back to spend time as a family and eat yummy candy. It was such a fun night.

Elder T.
On one Sunday in August, our nephew Steven was set apart as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There was a tender spirit there that day during all the festivities. Steven gave a wonderful farewell talk.
We made sure to take pictures as a family. We were only missing Brandon's brother Brian.
Steven will be and is a remarkable missionary. I have always been impressed with the young man that he is. He will accomplish amazing things on his mission, even if it is to help one person come to the realization that they are a child of God.
We are grateful for Steven's willingness to serve the Lord. We are also grateful for the great example that he is to our children.

Colorado Fun
After we spent time in Utah, we headed over to Craig and Nancy's house for some fun. Our oldest nephew was heading out on his mission to Chile. It was wonderful to get together with family.
The Saturday before Steven gave his farewell talk, Craig and Nancy had an open house with delicious food.
As you can tell, the kids enjoyed spending time with their cousins.
It was a beautiful Colorado afternoon! The perfect day to spend time catching up with family.
