Daddy Daughter Dance
In the middle of October, Emmy and Brandon went to a daddy daughter dance at our church. Emmy was so excited and looked forward to the night for days. As you can tell from the cute picture, the theme was western.
Emmy came home from the night so happy and pleased! She absolutely loved having a night with her daddy all to herself!

Lucy's Field Trip
Brandon was able to take the morning off of work to take her.
From what I understand, Lucy had a fabulous time riding the bus and train with her dad and friends.
Just like last year, when it came time to pet and feed the alpacas, Lucy got a little nervous. Brandon had to hold her the whole time. However, she did venture to touch the alpacas with one finger this year which was more than she did last year.
Of course, she found the river to throw rocks in with her friends.
It was a wonderful, beautiful fall morning that Brandon and Lucy were able to spend together!

When Daddy's in Charge
Let me first off start by saying that I am so lucky to be married to Brandon. He is an amazing guy who is more than willing to help and pull his load in our household.
One sunny beautiful spring day, Brandon was in charge of Lucy outside while he was doing some yard work and I was working on things in the inside. Lucy cherishes every minute that she is outside and insisted on going out when she saw that daddy and the big kids were out there. Lucy loves riding on the scooters, blowing bubbles and playing with chalk among other things while being outside.
After Lucy was outside for awhile, Brandon called me and said that Lucy need me. I guess Lucy accidentally plopped in a mud puddle outside and her backside was completely covered in mud!
What Lucy needed was a bath, but not until after she enjoyed some more time outside.
I have loved seeing Lucy's curiosity and wonder come alive as she has been spending more time outside and acting more like a big kid.

Trip to Taos
Earlier in February, Brandon took the kids to explore Taos, New Mexico while I got a wonderful day to relax at home.
The kids were able to stop and see a incredible bridge called the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. The kids enjoyed throwing rocks off the bridge. The view was amazing.
The kids were also able to play at a wonderful play place. Lucy enjoyed finding little seats her size to sit in.
Brandon and the kids stopped at the toys store by the play place and saw some fun things.
Then, Brandon and the kids stopped at a rock store that had many unique and amazing rocks. Each of the big kids were able to pick out a rock to bring home. The kids were so cute and so excited to show me their fun treasure.
To end the night, the kids stopped at a local restaurant and had breakfast for dinner.
It was a wonderful day. The kids had such a great time with Brandon and I enjoyed some precious moments to myself.

Girls Night and Fathers and Sons
Back in the middle of May, the boys had their Fathers and Sons camping trip and Emmy and I had our girls night. The boys have been talking about this camping trip for a long time. They were very excited to go camping with their dad. Emmy was also excited to spend some time with just the girls. I think it is safe to say that both parties had a great time.
Earlier in the day, the kids and I stopped at the store so they could pick out some fun treats to have for their fun night.
I met Brandon at his work with the car packed and ready to go.
We moved the girls to his car and we both set out on our adventures. The boys had a wonderful time playing catch and climbing on the toy equipment.
Hyrum and Ben also enjoyed the S'mores and starbursts they roasted. They spent the late night hours with Brandon playing a Monopoly card game that they really enjoy.
After we dropped off the boys, Emmy went to T-Ball practice and then we started our fun night.
Emmy told me that she wanted to go to the restaurant where she can have Mac and Cheese.
So, once again we headed to McCallisters. Afterwards, we headed to Sweet Cece's, our favorite yogurt stop in town. Of course she put in her favorite, chocolate rocks.
Then, on our way home we stopped at Redbox so she could pick out a movie for us to watch. She picked a Barbie movie. Lucy, Emmy and I snuggled in my bed and watched her movie and had treats. Emmy was so eager to share her treats with me. It was really cute. I think Emmy's favorite part was that she got to sleep in my bed that night. She tries to sneak into sleep by me any chance she can get! I loved every moment with Emmy and Lucy. Emmy was so happy to have me to herself. It was a great night.
