Fancy Artwork

One thing I enjoy is observing my kids hard work on crafts at school.

Lucy was pretty proud of this lion she made in the month of march.

She thought it was wonderful to make this cool whale.
Emmy made this spooky haunted house with math facts inside the windows.
She also made this pretty cool pie to explore fractions.
I absolutely loved this shark that Lucy made too.
Ben also made some really neat projects at school, but didn't care enough to get his picture taken! I have two very talented girls!

Lucy's Preschool Field Trip Fall 2015

In September of 2015, I was able to go on an exciting field trip with Lucy.

To start off the field trip, we were able to ride on a bus to the train. Lucy thought it was pretty neat to go on the train.

Next, we went to see the alpacas. The children were allowed to pet or feed the alpacas. However, in true Lucy fashion, she was too scared and didn't get any where close to the animals.

Then we went on a leaf hunt! Lucy and her friend Brooke were excited to find the beautiful leaves and put them in their bag.

I think Lucy's favorite part of the field trip might have been when we stopped to throw rocks in the river.  Throwing rocks in the water has always been one of Lucy's favorite past times.

After having a quick snack, we hopped back on the bus and headed back to school. I am grateful for the opportunity that I had to go with Lucy on her field trip. I love being this little girl's mom!

Marshmallows

I know that I am WAY behind on posting on here.  We just have had so many things that have happened recently. It seems like our life keeps getting busier and busier.  Hopefully one day I will be caught up.  Until then, I had to post about this silly adventure that happened today. This morning, Emmy was creating various letters with  Lucy's yogurt melts.  I then got the idea to break out the marshmallows to make Bubble Gum/ Sight Words for her to read. Emmy or myself would write out a word with marshmallows for the other person to guess. Of course, she was promised that afterwards she would be able to eat the marshmallows.  It was cute to see the little words she came up with.  The BYU she created made me smile. She did a fantastic job creating her words and guessing the ones I created  (Didn't do her hair yet for the day before the picture...)
While Emmy and I were enjoying our impromptu game, Lucy snagged the bag of marshmallows and dumped them EVERYWHERE!

She was in HEAVEN eating those tasty treats and so proud of herself.
I wish I would have left the mess until I took pictures of her with her big accomplishment.
I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I saw her. We love our Lucy!

Zoo Field Trip

On March 21st,  Ben and Emmy's preschool went on a field trip to the zoo.

The class went to specifically see the dinosaur exhibit since the students learned about dinosaurs in the month of February. Ben and Emmy were so excited to go on their field trip.

Both Ben and Emmy loved every minute of the exhibit.  All the dinosaurs are robots and looked very real.

The dinosaurs even made noises and some squirted water at you.

The kids loved the T-Rex they could sit on

the fun bone puzzle

and digging for dinosaurs

Ben and Emmy's cute preschool teacher would explain the various dinosaurs to the kids and read all the signs to them (Did I mention they have a fantastic teacher?).

Lucy tagged along on the wonderful outing.

Of course, we stopped for a snack.

After the dinosaurs, we went and saw a few other things at the zoo.  It was such a fun day and great field trip.

The Letter "S"

Ben and Emmy and I had a letter S day back in February. First, I showed them the letter S. We talked about what it looked like and what sound the letter makes.

Next, we went through my bag. I filled up my bag with various items around our house that started with the letter S. The kids would rotate taking turns picking out an item. We would talk about the item and how its name began with the letter S.

We sang Once There Was a Snowman. I also think we sang another song, but I can't remember what it was.

We read the adorable book All You Need For a Snowman. Afterwords, the kids made a cute snowman made out of cotton balls. I loved all the little snowflakes the added to their picture.

For snack we had suckers.

It was a fun morning to just focus on these two birds of mine and do some fun preschool activities with them.

Halloween Fun

As I have mentioned before, my kids LOVE Halloween! They were eagerly anticipating the arrival of the holiday. We partied part of September and all October long.

Some of the fun things we did were:

I made a fun sensory bowl of Halloween things for the kids to play in. Yes, it is a little messy, but they loved it and had such a great time.Ben, Emmy and I also went to a fun Halloween party that some friends in my ward put together. At the party, the kids played fun Halloween games and read spooky stories, did Halloween crafts and ate yummy Halloween food. The pictures below are of the kids doing a Halloween Treasure Hunt that they had at the party. We love going to the library for story time! One of the weeks, towards the end of October, they had a cute Halloween story time when Halloween books were read and the kids made a cute Jack-o-lantern.
Also, the kids and I made cute jack-o-lantern puppets. Below is a video of them singing 5 Little Pumpkins with their puppets.Once again this year I was able to help at Ms. Tami's preschool with the Halloween party. Ben and Emmy had so much fun. The party was started off by playing Don't Eat the Monster which is always a hit. Next, the kids played Halloween Bingo. Then the kids played Guess the Ghost. Last, the kids played musical carpets which is just like Musical Chairs. The kids loved every minute at the party. It was so much fun to be able to go and help out. The kids were quite pleased that I came.
