A 6 Year Old's Special Day

Hyrum turned six in the middle of November. He was very excited to turn six. He mentioned it a few times that even though he is six now, he wouldn't got to first grade until next August.

He loved talking to everyone who called to wish him a Happy Birthday.He started his special day out with blueberry Mickey Mouse pancakes and bacon (his favorite food).I went and had lunch with him at school for his special day. I even brought in a happy meal from Subway. Happy meals are a real treat in our family since we usually only get them on Birthdays.Hyrum loved the birthday crown and birthday bag he was given at school. Hyrum was anxious for Brandon to get home from school so we could go to Chuck E. Cheeses. Like always, the kids had a great time. Hyrum really enjoys playing the pinball game with Brandon.Next, we came home had pizza from Little Cesar. We then sang Happy Birthday to Hyrum and watched him blow out candles and had cake and ice cream.Next, we watched Hyrum open presents!
Hyrum received a fun Transformer card and gift card from Grandma and Papa T. Grandpa an Grandma Great both sent some birthday money and a card.Ben and Emmy were both really excited to give Hyrum presents for his birthday. Hyrum received Silly Bands from both Ben and Emmy. One pack was glow in the dark robots and the other was baseball.Hyrum also received Iron Man crayons from Emmy and a Star Wars coloring book from Ben.Aunt Lorri and family gave Hyrum a really neat Baseball book that he was pretty excited about.Hyrum received a fun mask and Zebra gum from Sean.Aunt Millie gave Hyrum some really awesome books that he was enthralled with. With one of the books, you read it one way and it is about Monster Trucks and if you read the book the other way, it is about fast race cars. Both sides were a hit with Hyrum.Hyrum received new clothes from Grandma and Papa Van as well as an awesome new set of construction Trio Blocks.Brandon and I gave him some Tree House Books and an Iron Man lego set.Overall, I think he had a great birthday. Brandon and I both love Hyrum very much and are so pleased to have him in our family. Happy Birthday to my adorable, sweet and sometimes very stubborn 6 year old.
