On November 11th, we had Hyrum's birthday party. He decided to have a Cougar themed birthday party. In the invite, we told our friends to wear the cougar gear or blue and white. Hyrum was so excited when it was finally time for his birthday party. To start the party off, we had everyone color a picture of a cougar. Once everyone got there, I lead the kids in stretching to warm-up for the party.
We divided the kids into two groups and sent one group with Brandon to shoot and dunk a basketball while the other group stayed with me and played Don't Eat the Cougar. After everyone had a turn, we switched groups. The group playing Don't Eat the Cougar went to practice their basketball skills. When we finished the games, we took the kids out to do an obstacle course that I set up. First the kids had to dribble a soccer ball between the cones, then run up the hill and run really fast for ten second. Next, the kids had to run down the hill to the window and do ten jumping jacks and then they were supposed to skip back to their group.
The next game we played was called What Time is it Mr. Cougar (What Time is it Mr. Fox). The kids absolutely loved this game and had such a great time playing it.Next, we had the kids come in while Hyrum opened his Birthday presents. Hyrum was spoiled rotten by his friends and received many awesome gifts that he loves!
After Hyrum opened his presents, we sang Happy Birthday to Hyrum and had cake and ice cream. Once again, Brandon made such an amazing cake. Hyrum's cake was the Y one the mountain. After the kids had cake, they all wanted to go out and play What Time is it Mr. Cougar again.
It was such a beautiful November day the perfect day for a birthday party . We are so lucky to have such great friends here in Memphis to help us celebrate Hyrum's 6th birthday. Hyrum had such a wonderful time with his friends. You could tell he was loving every minute of his cougar birthday party!
