Trip to Utah Wrap-Up

We had a great time during our trip to Utah. Before each time we spend time with my parents, my kids make a "To-Do" list of the various things that they would like to do with them. This trip to Utah the list included:

1.Nail Polish- Emmy went with the girls and got her first manicure/pedicure. She also talked Tracy and Millie into painting her nails MANY times.2.Games- The kids played LOTS of games with anybody and everybody. They love GAMES!
3. Provo Pool- I didn't take any pictures, but we did go to the Provo Pool with the whole family and had a great time. The kids loved going down the HUGE slide with everyone. They also enjoyed playing in the fun kiddie area at the pool. Let's face it, if water is involved my kids LOVE it. It was an added bonus for them that they had so many people to play with.

4. Donuts- We did a couple of donut runs while we were in Utah. One of the times we got donuts was on the Fourth of July.

5. Blueberry Pancakes- My dad made MANY blueberry pancakes while we were in Utah. He even made them Mickey Mouse Shaped for the kids.6. Lake Powell- Lake Powell is always a highlight of our trip to Utah.

7. Shopping- We were able to go shopping with Grandma and Papa at the store for various fun things like fireworks and donuts.

8. Knights- Ben was happy he got in a game of knights with Papa. A game of knights includes a good guy, a bad guy and a princess to save!

9. Kangaroo Zoo- The kids always love going to Kangaroo Zoo. The kids were able to go a couple of times this trip.
10. Old McDonalds- My dad took my family to McDonalds during one of his lunch breaks for lunch. The kids even talked him into getting some ice cream while we were there.

11. Cars 2- I don't have any pictures of this one, but we did go and see the cute movie. My kids loved every minute. We went with the whole family including Grandma Nelson and Uncle Nate. The kids were spoiled and Grandma B. got the kids treats to have while they watched the movie.

12. Watermelon- We ate lots of watermelon in Utah.

13. Books- The kids were read lots of books by many people.14. Baby- I bought some little bows for our baby number 4!

15. Ice Cream- We made delicious homemade ice cream for the Fourth of July!

Other fun things we did in Utah that weren't on the list were:

Watch these two love birds get married.Spend time with the Bird Family. We went up to their house once and they came down for Sean and Tracy's reception and we also went to the Bean Museum in Provo with them. The kids love watching the Penguins play. We were lucky, we got to see Papa play too.The kids loved every minute of playing at the Hot Chocolate Grandma's House. There were many people to play with.Emmy loved my cousin TOMWe also got to see my Grandma N and Uncle Nate. Emmy loved feeling Grandma's smooth skin and commented that she was so old! Good thing she is four.

The bugs were a big hit in Utah! The kids thought it was awesome when they were able to play restaurant with Papa for dinner. Papa is always a good sport to play what creative game the kids have up their sleeves. The boys, especially Ben loved visiting Lisa and her dogs EVERY day. Ben also enjoyed visiting Wendy who lives in my parents neighborhood. He is a very friendly child.Ben LOVED sharing a Gator-rader with his Papa.

One of the BIG HIGHLIGHTS of the trip was the sleepover at Sean and Tracy's (my parents basement). My kids knew that the sleep over would happen and looked forward anxiously to the big event. Sean and Tracy didn't disappoint. They got pizza for dinner for the kids. Sean and Tracy let them jump on the blow-up mattress. Sean and Tracy made milkshakes for the kids. Emmy loved the fact that Tracy painted her nails. To end the night, they watched Tangled. In the morning the kids got to eat breakfast with Tracy and Sean by themselves. If I remember correctly, they had yummy waffles. The kids loved every minute of their sleepover. Sean and Tracy were so nice to invite the kids to come and spent so much time with them. Tracy was cute and had cookies and gum for the kids to have on the airplane ride home. Can you tell she is the new favorite?

I don't think we could have asked for a better trip to Utah. My parents always spoil us and take good care of us. It is a sad day when it is time for us to leave. We are lucky that we are able to see them so often even though we live far apart. Thanks again Grandma and Papa, we had a great time.
