Hyrum is Eight!

My oldest son turned eight in November. That is just crazy to me. I don't feel like I should have an eight year old yet. 

Hyrum is a sweetheart, but can be stubborn.  For the most part he is happy kid and a defender for those around him. 

I love Hyrum's freckles and his brown eyes. 

Hyrum is very bright and does excellent in school. He is way above grade level in his Math and Reading abilities.

One thing that I love about Hyrum is that he still leaves me love notes on my bed. It makes me smile and I treasure those little notes. I also love that on occasion, he will sit in my lap for me to read him books.   

Hyrum is athletic and does really well in sports. He played well on his soccer team in the fall and just finished up his basketball season in December where he did awesome.

 Hryum is a die hard BYU fan.  He loves to go to their games and cheer for them. He is constantly singing little cheers that he heard at the games for his beloved cougars.  Also, he has decided that he is a Bronco fan too. He enjoys watching sports on the TV with Brandon. 

 One of Hyrum's favorite things to do is to play with his brother Ben. They wrestle, play with beyblades, play the Wii, they do it all together. 

Hyrum is quick to laugh and quick to smile.  I love to hear his laughter.  He enjoys being silly.

Hryum loves his sister Lucy. He is a big help with her.  Emmy and Hyrum are either best friends or worst enemies. I hope that someday they will be able to best friends more often than not.

 Hyrum has loved going to scouts and thinks it is pretty cool that he is a cub scout.  When I did a photo shoot with him, he wanted one with the flag since he is a cub scout and he wanted me to take a picture of him saluting the flag the way a cub scout does.  It made me laugh.

 Also while I was taking his pictures, I was trying to talk him into taking his picture by an old building and he said, "Mom, it is too freaky."

Hyrum loves to ride his bike!

I love to hear his comments and thoughts on life. They make me laugh and smile.  

Of course, a big event that just happened in Hyrum's life is that he made the choice to be baptized.

We are so lucky to have Hyrum in our family. We love him so much and consider it a honor to be his parents.
