Part of the Fourth of July festivities included participated at the local pool for the diving for quarters event.
The youngest kids went first. Lucy was so excited to go in the water. She started by gathering the quarters, but soon dropped them all and just swam to her heart's content. She was disappointed when it was time for her to come back out of the water, but she kept sneaking back in!
Emmy and Ben really got into diving for quarters. However, Emmy didn't end up with any quarters. As the good hearted boy that Ben is, without no prodding from anyone, he divided his quarters in half and shared them with his sister. It was very cute to see.
Hyrum went next in the diving for quarters, and came out like a king. Since he was participating on the swim team for the past few months, he has become very comfortable in water.
Next came the swim races. Hyrum was the only one who wanted to do it. He swam hard and fast and came out first in his age group. We were so proud of him. Brandon told Hyrum that since it was a short race, that he really needed to push himself and that it would and should hurt, but only for a little bit. It was great to see Hyrum work so hard and come out victorious.
Our time at the pool that day was a great addition to the Fourth of July festivity.
