On October 9th, we celebrated Ben and Emmy's birthday, with their friends, by having a Halloween Birthday Bash. We invited all their friends to come in their Halloween costumes to celebrate. I debated about having a princess/knight brithday party for Ben and Emmy, but when I brought up the idea of a Halloween Birthday party they eagerly agreed. They both love Halloween so much that having Halloween for the theme of the party was perfect!
Both Ben and Emmy had been looking forward to their BIG day for a long time. It was so much fun to see their excitement as they would pass out invitations to invite their friends to their party.
To start things off, we first had the kids color some fun Halloween pages while we waited for all the friends to come.Next, we split the kids up into two groups, boys and girls. All the boys went with Brandon and played Don't Eat the Monster. The girls stayed with me and we played Guess the Ghost. We picked a friend to leave the room and I took a blanket and put it over another friend. I then had the other kids switch spots to try and confuse the person who left. After the kids had found new spots, I allowed the child who left the room to come back inside. That child then tried to guess who was the ghost. The kids LOVED this game. Everyone was so excited when it was their turn. In this picture, Emmy is trying to figure out who the Ghost is.After the games were finished, we then lined the kids up for a costume parade. We played fun Halloween music as the kids marched around the room showing off their costumes.Next, the girls and boys swapped spots. The boys came with me to play Guess the Ghost and the girls went with Brandon to play Don't Eat The Monster. Ben was excited when it was his turn to be the ghost. We then played Monster Freeze Dance. The kids danced until the music stopped and then they had to freeze. The kids loved grooving to the Halloween music. In the picture below, the kids are creeping like a cat.Next, we played Hot Pumpkin. We passed little pumpkins around the circle while music played. When the music stopped, whoever had the pumpkin had to make a spooky or a silly Halloween sound. Hyrum did a great job making fun Halloween noises at the party. After we played Hot Pumpkin, Ben and Emmy opened their presents from their friends. They were spoiled rotten and received many fun things that they have enjoyed.
After presents, we had the kids go out and play for a little bit while we got the cake and ice cream ready. What type of birthday would it be if Brandon didn't make the cake? I think he did a fantastic job.Ben and Emmy loved it when everyone sang to them. After cake and ice cream, the kids played with balloons and pretended Kleenexes were ghost floating in the air until their parents came.It was such a fun party! The kids loved every minute and were completely exhausted at the end of the day. We are lucky to have such great friends to come and celebrate Ben and Emmy's birthday with us.
